Band Camp is where the magic begins!

This is when students learn the show, build team bonds, and develop the skills that define the Mighty Marching Pirates. It’s tough—but it’s also where some of the best memories are made.

📆 2025 Band Camp Schedule

Location: Fernandina Beach High School – Robinson Band Hall & practice field

Dates:

• July 28–31: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM & 5:00 PM–9:00 PM
• (Students must leave campus between sessions — no staying from 12–5 PM)
• August 1–8: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM
• August 8: Friends & Family Showcase @ 6:30 PM (Gates open at 6:10)

📝 Attendance is Mandatory

Band Camp is required for all members.

Missing any portion may result in limited performance eligibility or alternate drill placement. Students must arrive before call time so they are ready to go at the designated time.

🎒 What to Bring Daily

Help your student be prepared by sending them with:

• ✅ Instrument & music
• ✅ Dot sheet
• ✅ 1-gallon water jug (full)
• ✅ Sack lunch or dinner (no delivery)
• ✅ Sunscreen
• ✅ Hat or visor & sunglasses
• ✅ Comfortable athletic shoes (no Crocs or slides)
• ✅ Knee-length black compression/athletic shorts
• ✅ Great attitude and willingness to learn!

🍎 Hydration & Nutrition Tips

Florida heat is no joke. Students should:

• Begin hydrating several days in advance
• Avoid sugary drinks or dairy before rehearsal
• Eat a solid breakfast (but not heavy or greasy)

Breaks are built into the schedule throughout each day for water, snacks, and cooldowns.

👕 Uniform Fitting & Fees

• Rookie uniform packages will be fitted prior to or during Band Camp
• All payments for fair share, cleaning fees, and uniform orders are due before stepping onto the practice field

👏 What Parents Can Do

• Label EVERYTHING your student brings
• Check in with them daily—this is physically and mentally challenging, especially for first-year members
• Make sure they’re getting rest, food, and fluids
• Encourage them—they can do this!
